Last year during the writer’s strike, Conan O’Brien grew a “strike-beard.”   Seeing as how I am such a fan of Conan’s AND I make bearded plush characters called, Mr. Beardsley, I thought it would be fitting to create a Mr. Beardsley especially for the late night talk show host. 

That’s exactly what I did!   I ended up making a small plush gnome, complete with a little suit, orange beard and a tiny felt, mint green Fender Strat that I had once seen him play on his show.  I wished him well and shipped him off to New York City.

The next thing I know, Mr. Beardsley is in People Magazine with Conan O’Brien in his new L.A. office playing that same mint green guitar.   It makes me happy to see that they get along so well!   I hope that Mr. Beardsley is adjusting well to the west coast.
