This is Pucker Duck! He is a duck/sea horse creature with a pursed beak and a saddle with stirrups.

I did a bit of hand-stitching for this one on the flippers, eyes and beak. Pucker Duck is made of fleece, wool felt and lots of Miles Davis. No, I didn’t use him for the stuffing but I listened to his music a bunch while making this aquatic plush creature. He will be on display and for sale at Schmancy Toys in Seattle for this years Plush You! show. The show opens up on October 10th.

My contribution to MF Magazine - an illustration/felt piece of Ingrid Michaelson . I used a fine point pen and various colors of felt for her glasses, lips and nose. This Oregan-based magazine features new bands and fashion and you should check it out! To order your Summer 2008 issue right now go here.

These are some sketches that I did a little while ago while working on ideas for a Mr. Beardsley book. I just need to iron out the storyline first before I do any finalized drawings. For these I used watercolor pencils and a fine point pen.

Bird Boy with Teenie Tiny Sheep (top), Mr. Beardsley (bottom). I made a plush character that sort of resembles the blue bird character for a show in Connecticut but he ended up looking grumpy (see below). Maybe it’s because I didn’t give him a beak.

Standing at 54 inches tall, this Mr. Beardsley seen below is the biggest one to date! His bearded disguise is removable, too!
